Mars Trust Request for Volunteers

The Mars Trust have asked if we might have some volunteers to support them visiting Bourne Academy soon. The following is from there email:

We are a Christian charity running relationship and life-skills workshops for young people in local schools. The workshops themselves are suitable for pupils of all faiths or none, but many of our volunteers in local schools are Christians, and this has worked extremely well. We find that church volunteers bring warmth, encouragement, and confidence that really helps the young people engage with the sessions.

We are looking for a small number of volunteers to help support the workshops, mainly by working alongside small groups of students during activities and discussions.

No previous experience is needed, and we make the workshops very easy to be part of.

We provide full guidance on the day, clear instructions for each activity, and volunteers are always working as part of a team, so no one is left on their own or expected to lead anything.

Volunteers often tell us they were nervous beforehand but really enjoyed it once they came along.

More information about what we do can be found on our website:

Even one or two volunteers makes a big difference.
