Accessibility Statement

At St Andrew’s Kinson, we are committed to ensuring that everyone — of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities — feels welcome and able to take part in the life of our church, both online and in person.

This statement explains our commitment to digital accessibility and provides details about access to our buildings and events.

1. Our Commitment to Website Accessibility

We want as many people as possible to be able to use our website. This means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels, and fonts using your browser or device settings

  • zoom in up to 300% without text spilling off the screen

  • navigate most pages using only a keyboard

  • listen to the website using a screen reader (such as NVDA or VoiceOver)

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the recognised international standard for web accessibility.

If you experience any difficulty using our site or need information in another format (such as large print, audio, or plain text), please contact us.
We will do our best to help.

2. Accessibility of Our Buildings

The Church

  • Parking: There are no designated disabled parking bays. We recommend parking at the front of the church, where there is level access along the path to the main entrance.
The rear car park includes a ramp with a steep gradient, which may be challenging for wheelchair users or those with mobility difficulties.

  • Entrance: The main entrance to the church is step-free, providing easy access for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.

  • Inside the Church: Our welcomers and sidespeople are always happy to assist anyone in finding a comfortable and accessible place to sit.

The Church Centre

  • Step-free, level access is available throughout the building, suitable for wheelchair users and those with mobility needs.

  • Access to The Venue is via a level entrance from the rear car park.

  • An accessible toilet is located within the Church Centre.

3. Accessibility Limitations and Improvements

We are aware that some areas of our website and facilities may not yet fully meet accessibility standards.
We are actively working to improve the following:

  • Some older PDF documents and images may not yet be fully accessible to screen readers.

  • A small number of videos may lack captions or transcripts.

  • Colour contrast on older pages or documents may not always meet the current WCAG 2.1 AA standard.

  • Our news section does not include audio versions.

  • Maps or site images may not always include alternative text.

We review our accessibility regularly and will make improvements as resources allow.
If you find an issue not listed here, please contact us so we can address it.

4. Feedback and Contact

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our buildings, services, and website.
