Chrism Eucharist at Salisbury Cathedral

Chrism Eucharist at Salisbury Cathedral – Thursday 2 April, 11:00am

All are warmly invited to attend the Chrism Eucharist at Salisbury Cathedral on Thursday 2 April at 11:00am, a beautiful and significant moment in the life of the diocese as we prepare to enter the heart of Holy Week.

Although this service is often associated with clergy and those in licensed ministries, it is very much a gathering for the whole Church. Everyone is welcome, and it is a wonderful opportunity to experience the shared ministry of the people of God as we gather around the Eucharist together.

The Chrism Eucharist is particularly meaningful for those who may be exploring a vocation, whether to ordained ministry or to licensed or commissioned lay ministry. In the prayers, the renewal of ministerial commitment, and the blessing of the holy oils used throughout the year, the service offers a powerful glimpse of the calling that the Church shares in Christ.

If you have ever wondered about how God might be calling you to serve, or if you would simply like to witness this special moment in the life of our diocese, you would be very welcome to join us.

It promises to be a deeply encouraging and prayerful gathering as we celebrate the ministry we share with one another, and with the one who calls us and in whose name we serve.

If you would like to go together, please do talk to Dan and we can arrange group travel and shared cars, and we can offer lifts if anyone would like one.
