Kinson and West Howe Foodbank - Donations needed
Right now, one of the simplest things is making one of the biggest differences in our local community.
Every week, families, individuals, and older neighbours walk through our doors needing practical support with food and everyday essentials. The Foodbank exists so that no one in Kinson has to face hunger, crisis, or shame alone. It is a place of dignity, welcome, and real help, and it only works because ordinary people choose to give.
At the moment, our shelves are running worryingly low, and something as basic as carrier bags has become essential. Without them, we cannot safely and discreetly provide food parcels to those who need them most. If you have spare bags at home, they would be just as valuable as tins and toiletries.
Alongside bags, these are currently our most urgently needed items:
Tinned meat for nourishing main meals
Tinned fruit for quick, healthy snacks
Tinned tomatoes for cooking staples
Tinned pasta such as spaghetti hoops and mac and cheese
Breakfast cereals to start the day well
Long life fruit juice
Ladies deodorant
Toothpaste and toothbrushes
Washing up liquid
Toilet roll
These are the items that go out fastest because they are the things people rely on most in daily life. When shelves are full, it means fewer parents skipping meals, fewer people choosing between heating and eating, and more households feeling supported rather than overwhelmed.
If you are able to bring even one or two items this week, you will be directly helping someone nearby get through a difficult moment. If you have a stash of carrier bags, we would be incredibly grateful for those too.
Together, we can keep the shelves stocked.
Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and for being part of a community that looks after one another.
