Easter Schedule

We hope that our Lent and Easter schedule might help to remind us that lent is never simply a date in the diary. It is an intentional journey that draws us through repentance, table fellowship, silence, celebration, and resurrection hope. This year, we would love you to walk that journey with us, whether you are able to join for one moment or for the whole season.

We begin on Ash Wednesday with a reflective service at 7:00pm. This quiet, prayerful gathering marks the start of Lent, inviting us to remember both our frailty and God’s mercy. The imposition of ashes is a visible reminder that we belong to God, even in our weakness, and that repentance is not about shame but about returning home.

During Lent, we will also host a Lent Retreat Day on Saturday 21st March at St. Andrew’s. This will be an opportunity to step away from noise and busyness, creating space for prayer, reflection, and renewal. In a culture that prizes speed and productivity, a retreat day becomes a quiet act of resistance and trust, reminding us that spiritual depth grows in attentive stillness.

On Maundy Thursday, we gather for a Community Meal at 6:30pm, with food served at 7:00pm, followed by a service. Children and families will be very welcome, but it might not be the most exciting evening for them. This evening remembers the Last Supper, where Jesus knelt to wash feet and commanded his disciples to love one another. Sharing food together before worship allows us to embody that story rather than merely hear it. It is a table of hospitality, humility, and belonging.

Easter then breaks in with light and celebration. On Easter Sunday at 6:00am, we will meet for a Sunrise Service at Sandbanks, meeting in the Main Car Park before worshipping on the beach at 6am. . There is something profoundly powerful about greeting the dawn together, standing in the cool air as the sun rises, proclaiming that Christ is risen. Later that morning, at 10:00am, we gather in church for a Communion service filled with joy, song, and resurrection hope.

Alongside this, on Saturday 28th March from 10:00am to 12:00pm, there will be an Easter Family Event at Cornerstone Church. This will be a lively and welcoming space for families to explore the meaning of Easter in creative and accessible ways.

As with all of our events, if there is anything above that you would like to help us with, or volunteer in any way, then please do talk to Dan!

Lent moves us from ashes to sunrise, from confession to celebration, from table to empty tomb. Each gathering is a step in that story. You are warmly invited to join us as we walk it together.
