Day 3: The God Who Came Low
Reading: Luke 1:46-55 (Mary's Magnificat)
Devotional: Our God doesn't dwell in palaces with the powerful. He came in a manger, born to an unwed teenage mother in an occupied nation. This is scandalous, revolutionary love. God didn't send a memo or a philosophy; he sent himself, wrapped in vulnerable flesh. When we come to church, when we pray, when we seek God, we're not approaching distant royalty who demands we clean ourselves up first. We're meeting the God who has already come down, who knows our pain because he's felt it, who understands our struggles because he's lived them. This changes everything about how we approach both God and each other. We serve a God who chose the stable over the palace.
Reflection: How does knowing God chose humility change how I view my own struggles? Where is God calling me to come low for others?
