Between Two Comings
Reading: Matthew 1:1-17; Revelation 22:12-21
Devotional: We live in the "in-between"—between Christ's first coming and His return. Matthew carefully traces Jesus' lineage through David back to Abraham, fulfilling Isaiah's prophecy. The shoot of Jesse has come, bringing forgiveness and hope. Yet we await His return when all will be fully restored. This Advent tension—celebrating His birth while anticipating His return—should shape how we live. We're not merely waiting passively; we're called to share the gospel urgently. No one knows when Christ will return—it could be today. Those without Jesus face judgment, but with Him comes glorious hope. This reality demands action: Who in your life needs to hear about Jesus? How can you be a "banner" pointing others to Christ this season? Don't let comfort make you complacent about others' eternal destiny.
