6th Nov - Interceding for the Rebellious
Reading: Amos 7:1-6; Exodus 32:7-14
Devotional: Amos's response to visions of judgment is instructive: he intercedes. "Sovereign Lord, forgive! How can Jacob survive? He is so small." Despite Israel's rebellion, Amos pleads for mercy. This mirrors Moses interceding for Israel after the golden calf incident. There's a profound ministry in standing in the gap for those who are far from God, even when they don't want to hear His voice. God's heart is always toward mercy—He relents when His people pray. Who in your life is hardened toward God? Rather than writing them off or becoming frustrated, will you intercede? Your prayers matter. God hears the cries of the faithful on behalf of the rebellious. Don't underestimate the power of persistent, compassionate intercession.
Reflection Question: Who needs you to intercede for them today, even if they don't realize it?
