Nov 20th - True Faith Shows Itself

Reading: James 2:14-26; Amos 5:21-24; Micah 6:6-8

Devotional: God rejected Israel's festivals, offerings, and songs because their worship was disconnected from justice and righteousness. They honored God with their lips while their actions oppressed the poor. James echoes this truth: faith without works is dead. Genuine faith inevitably produces fruit in how we live.

Christianity is not merely intellectual assent to doctrines or participation in religious activities. It transforms our priorities, relationships, and daily choices. Does your faith influence how you spend money, treat coworkers, or respond to those different from you? True discipleship means allowing God's values to permeate every aspect of life. When our hearts align with God's, we naturally share His concern for justice, mercy, and humility. Examine one area of your life today where faith and practice may not fully align. Ask God to help you live more consistently with His character.
