Nov 18th - Standing for the Vulnerable

Reading: Amos 8:4-7; James 1:27; Isaiah 1:17

Devotional: God's anger burns against those who exploit the vulnerable. The dishonest merchants trampled the needy, manipulated weights, and sold even the chaff as grain. God declares, "I will never forget anything they have done." Our faith must translate into action that protects and serves those who cannot defend themselves.

Authentic Christianity extends beyond Sunday services into how we treat the marginalized in our communities. God calls us to be voices for the voiceless and defenders of the defenseless. This might mean supporting ethical businesses, volunteering with vulnerable populations, or speaking against injustice when we encounter it. Safeguarding the vulnerable reflects God's heart and demonstrates the reality of our faith. Ask God today to open your eyes to someone in need and show you one practical way to extend His compassion to them this week.
