The Lamb Who Makes Us Safe
Reading: John 1:29-34
Devotional: The world tells us to be lions - fierce, dominant, always in control. But John points to Jesus and declares, "Behold, the Lamb of God." In a culture obsessed with strength, Jesus models vulnerability. The Lamb doesn't roar to establish dominance; He surrenders in love. This is the scandal of the gospel: true power is found in sacrificial love, not self-promotion. When we embrace our identity as followers of the Lamb, we're freed from the exhausting performance of being strong enough, loud enough, impressive enough. We can be honest about our weakness because our worth comes from the One who willingly became weak for us. Today, what would it look like to embrace vulnerability rather than project strength?
