Called Into Community

Matthew 4:12-22

Devotional: Jesus didn't call isolated individuals; He built a community. Peter, Andrew, James, and John weren't perfected saints—they were ordinary fishermen doing hard work in a borderland town. Yet Jesus said, "Follow me," and promised to make them fishers of people. Notice He didn't say, "Get yourself sorted first" or "Prove your worthiness." He simply invited them into relationship and mission together. There is no such thing as solo discipleship. We are woven together like threads in fabric—individually weak, collectively strong. Who is walking this journey with you? If you feel alone in your faith, ask God to connect you with others. Unity isn't something we create; it's something Christ gives that we must actively maintain.
